Ed was honored with the 2014 Drama Desk Special Award for his “visionary directorial excellence [and] bold and strikingly original imagination” represented by The Mysteries – a reinvention of the English Corpus Christi cycle (“mystery plays”) with 48 American playwrights contributing new versions of climactic episodes from the Bible toward a 6-hour marathon (The Flea; NY Critics’ Pick, world premiere) – and The Golden Dragon, a dystopian fable of globalization by Germany’s most-produced living playwright, Roland Schimmelpfennig (PlayCo; Time Out Critics’ Pick, NY premiere).

Ed is also a two-time Drama Desk nominee for Outstanding Direction of Restoration Comedy by Amy Freed – an immersive burlesque created in collaboration with The Scissor Sisters – and These Seven Sicknesses, a marathon of the extant plays of Sophocles by Sean Graney (both at The Flea; NY Times Critics’ Picks, NY premieres).
